I like mashups, mix-tapes, genre-bending, synthesis, and doing new things I don’t know the names for. I’m as likely to take inspiration from an interview with a scientist, a history podcast, or a short story as another artist or musician. I think the right and wrong ways to do things are situational and not absolute. I get bored with one genre, one medium, one instrument. Any list of influences would be radically incomplete and misleading. I’ve learned and incorporated something from everything I’ve ever seen and heard.

Much of my work is focused on the foreground/background relationship, patterns and permutations, and manipulating human perceptual systems.

Sometimes I’m a maximalist, sometimes a minimalist, but usually I’m trying to find a way to do both at once.
I’m from Philly, but now live in upstate New York with my wife and two cats. Aside from creative projects, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, gardening, cooking, home improvement projects, and reading almost anything, though always with a soft spot for speculative fiction and amateur science non-fiction.

Mostly I make things because I find creativity to be as vital to my well-being as eating or sleeping, though I’ve chosen to continue working on a project rather than eating or sleeping plenty of times.
I’ve been fortunate in my creative career to always find outlets for my interests while never ceasing to learn new things. While my recent work has focused primarily on creative management and personal 2D and musical projects, I’ve done a lot of varied things over the years.

I’ve paid my rent selling paintings, drawings, and prints at galleries, festivals, bars, and anywhere else that would show my work. I’ve had day jobs as a printer, graphic designer, running day-to-day operations and organizing events at a gallery and community arts non-profit, and heading the design department for a nationally recognized museum design and fabrication firm while art directing projects ranging from the Bob Ross Experience to the National WW1 Museum and Memorial.

I taught myself 3D modelling, and my work has been adapted into physical sculptures at a state park.

I’m an active photographer and I’ve been the cameraman for a cooking show, several short films, a music video, and a bank commercial.

I was assistant director for two short films and a play, and helped to build film and theatrical sets.

I played multiple live shows a week for several years and recorded an album and an EP with a rock band as a vocalist, lyricist, keyboardist, and guitarist. I collaborated on an album as producer, composer, arranger, vocalist, lyricist, bassist, keyboardist, drummer, and guitarist. I’ve done sound design and written music for several short films. I have a home studio where I write, perform, record, and produce my own music.
